Otto Orf visits the jungle to set up medical and dental clinics

The HandsOnSports Foundation expanded its programming in Costa Rica after 7 years of attending to west coast communities. Director Otto Orf visits the jungle to set up medical and dental clinics for the families of three indigenous tribes in the Talamancan Reserve. In collaboration with Dr Peter Aborn, the Asociación Proyectos Especiales De Salud Region De Talamanca and in conjunction with a grant from the Henry Schein Cares Foundation the trip that can only be described as a National Geographic adventure had us traveling by dugout boat up and down rivers to deliver the supplies. Soccer shoes, balls and uniforms were distributed to the children and adults and games were organized while they waited their turn for medical treatment.
